महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-94, verse-22

ततः प्रचोदिता राज्ञा वनं गत्वास्य मन्त्रिणः ।
प्रचीयोदुम्बराणि स्म दानं दातुं प्रचक्रमुः ॥२२॥

22. tataḥ pracoditā rājñā vanaṁ gatvāsya mantriṇaḥ ,
pracīyodumbarāṇi sma dānaṁ dātuṁ pracakramuḥ.

22. Then his ministers, urged by the king, went to the forest. Having gathered (udumbara) figs, they began to give (dāna) them as gifts.
