महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-31, verse-9

वरेण छन्द्यतां राजा लभतां यद्यदिच्छति ।
आवयोस्तपसा सिद्धिं प्राप्नोतु यदि मन्यसे ॥९॥
9. vareṇa chandyatāṁ rājā labhatāṁ yadyadicchati ,
āvayostapasā siddhiṁ prāpnotu yadi manyase.

āvayoḥ tapasā siddhim prāpnotu yadi manyase
9. rājā vareṇa chandyatām yat yat icchati labhatām
yadi manyase (saḥ) āvayoḥ tapasā siddhim prāpnotu
9. Let the king be gratified with a boon, and let him obtain whatever he wishes. If you agree, let him attain success (siddhi) through our penance (tapas).
