महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-296, verse-44

हिरण्यगर्भादृषिणा वसिष्ठेन महात्मना ।
वसिष्ठादृषिशार्दूलान्नारदोऽवाप्तवानिदम् ॥४४॥
44. hiraṇyagarbhādṛṣiṇā vasiṣṭhena mahātmanā ,
vasiṣṭhādṛṣiśārdūlānnārado'vāptavānidam.

vasiṣṭhāt ṛṣiśārdūlāt nāradaḥ avāptavān idam

44. This (idam) was obtained (avāptavān) by Nārada from Vasiṣṭha (vasiṣṭhāt), who is the foremost among sages (ṛṣiśārdūla). Vasiṣṭha (vasiṣṭhena), the great-souled (mahātman) sage (ṛṣi), had received it from Hiraṇyagarbha.
