महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-288, verse-27

यत्क्रोधनो यजते यद्ददाति यद्वा तपस्तप्यति यज्जुहोति ।
वैवस्वतस्तद्धरतेऽस्य सर्वं मोघः श्रमो भवति क्रोधनस्य ॥२७॥
27. yatkrodhano yajate yaddadāti; yadvā tapastapyati yajjuhoti ,
vaivasvatastaddharate'sya sarvaṁ; moghaḥ śramo bhavati krodhanasya.
27. yat krodhanaḥ yajate yat dadāti
yat vā tapaḥ tapyati yat juhoti |
vaivasvataḥ tat harate asya sarvam
moghaḥ śramaḥ bhavati krodhanasya

27. Whatever a wrathful person performs as a Vedic ritual (yajña), whatever he gives, or whatever ascetic discipline (tapas) he undertakes, and whatever he offers in a fire ritual, Yama, the son of Vivasvān, takes away all of that. All the effort of such a wrathful person becomes futile.
