महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-288, verse-21

विमुच्यमानः पापेभ्यो घनेभ्य इव चन्द्रमाः ।

21. Like the moon becoming free from clouds, a wise (dhīra) person, being liberated from sins, becomes free from impurities, and desiring the appropriate time (for final liberation), succeeds through perseverance.
