महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-288, verse-22

यः सर्वेषां भवति ह्यर्चनीय उत्सेचने स्तम्भ इवाभिजातः ।
यस्मै वाचं सुप्रशस्तां वदन्ति स वै देवान्गच्छति संयतात्मा ॥२२॥
22. yaḥ sarveṣāṁ bhavati hyarcanīya; utsecane stambha ivābhijātaḥ ,
yasmai vācaṁ supraśastāṁ vadanti; sa vai devāngacchati saṁyatātmā.
22. yaḥ sarveṣām bhavati hi arcanīyaḥ
utsecane stambhaḥ iva abhijātaḥ
yasmai vācam supraśastām vadanti
sa vai devān gacchati saṃyatātmā
22. yaḥ utsecane abhijātaḥ stambhaḥ iva sarveṣām arcanīyaḥ bhavati,
yasmai (janāḥ) supraśastām vācam vadanti,
saḥ saṃyatātmā vai devān gacchati hi.
22. One who becomes venerable to all, like a well-born (ābhijāta) pillar in a raised structure, and to whom people speak highly commendable words—that self-controlled (saṃyatātman) person indeed goes to the gods.
