महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-288, verse-26

अमृतस्येव संतृप्येदवमानस्य वै द्विजः ।
सुखं ह्यवमतः शेते योऽवमन्ता स नश्यति ॥२६॥
26. amṛtasyeva saṁtṛpyedavamānasya vai dvijaḥ ,
sukhaṁ hyavamataḥ śete yo'vamantā sa naśyati.
26. amṛtasya iva santṛpyet avamānasya vai dvijaḥ
sukham hi avamataḥ śete yaḥ avamantā saḥ naśyati
26. dvijaḥ vai amṛtasya iva avamānasya santṛpyet hi
avamataḥ sukham śete yaḥ avamantā saḥ naśyati
26. Indeed, a twice-born (dvija) should be as satisfied by insult as if it were nectar. For one who is insulted sleeps happily, while the insulter himself perishes.
