महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-250, verse-9

पितामह उवाच ।
मृत्यो संकल्पिता मे त्वं प्रजासंहारहेतुना ।
गच्छ संहर सर्वास्त्वं प्रजा मा च विचारय ॥९॥
9. pitāmaha uvāca ,
mṛtyo saṁkalpitā me tvaṁ prajāsaṁhārahetunā ,
gaccha saṁhara sarvāstvaṁ prajā mā ca vicāraya.

gaccha saṃhara sarvāḥ tvam prajāḥ mā ca vicāraya

gaccha tvam sarvāḥ prajāḥ saṃhara ca mā vicāraya
9. The Grandsire said: 'O Death, you have been designated by me as the cause for the destruction of creatures. Go, you destroy all beings (prajā), and do not deliberate (vicāraya).'
