तद्ग्राहकतया चित्तं भूत्वा बध्नाति देहकम् ॥ २३ ॥

Consciousness (bodha), through non-awareness (abodha), assumes substantiality (piṇḍatā), much like objects in a dream. The mind (citta), having then become the perceiver of that (substance), binds the physical body (dehaka).
