अज्ञं प्रशास्ति किल यः कनकावदातां स स्वप्नदृष्टपुरुषाय सुतां ददाति ॥ ५९ ॥

jīvam vivekinam iha upadiśanti tat-jñāḥ

iha tat-jñāḥ vivekinam jīvam upadiśanti,

saḥ kanaka-avadātām sutām svapna-dṛṣṭa-puruṣāya dadāti

Here, those who know the truth (tajjñāḥ) instruct the discerning individual (jīva), not the childish (bāla), the deluded (udbhrama), the unreal (asanmaya), or the one abandoned by the noble. Indeed, whoever instructs an ignorant person (ajña) is like one who gives his golden-complexioned daughter to a man seen only in a dream.
