योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-42, verse-26

एवं जीवो हि संकल्पवासनारज्जुवेष्टितः ।
दुःखजालपरीतात्मा क्रमादायाति चित्तताम् ॥ २६ ॥
evaṃ jīvo hi saṃkalpavāsanārajjuveṣṭitaḥ ,
duḥkhajālaparītātmā kramādāyāti cittatām 26
26. evam jīvaḥ hi saṅkalpavāsanārajjuveṣṭitaḥ
duḥkhajālaparītātmā kramāt āyāti cittatām

26. Thus, the individual soul (jīva) is indeed bound by the rope of intentions (saṅkalpa) and latent impressions (vāsanā). With its self enveloped by a net of suffering, it gradually attains the state of consciousness (citta).
