वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-23, verse-9

प्रथमं मरणं नार्या भर्तुर्वैगुण्यमुच्यते ।
सुवृत्तः साधुवृत्तायाः संवृत्तस्त्वं ममाग्रतः ॥९॥
9. prathamaṃ maraṇaṃ nāryā bharturvaiguṇyamucyate ,
suvṛttaḥ sādhuvṛttāyāḥ saṃvṛttastvaṃ mamāgrataḥ.
9. prathamam maraṇam nāryāḥ bhartuḥ vaiguṇyam ucyate
suvṛttaḥ sādhuvṛttāyāḥ saṃvṛttaḥ tvam mama agrataḥ
9. nāryāḥ prathamam maraṇam bhartuḥ vaiguṇyam ucyate.

sādhuvṛttāyāḥ mama agrataḥ saṃvṛttaḥ.
9. It is said that for a woman, the demise of her husband is her primary death. And you, the virtuous one, have passed away before my very eyes, me being a woman of virtue.
