वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-23, verse-21

संश्रुतं गृह्णता पाणिं चरिष्यामीति यत्त्वया ।
स्मर तन्मम काकुत्स्थ नय मामपि दुःखिताम् ॥२१॥
21. saṃśrutaṃ gṛhṇatā pāṇiṃ cariṣyāmīti yattvayā ,
smara tanmama kākutstha naya māmapi duḥkhitām.
21. saṃśrutam gṛhṇatā pāṇim cariṣyāmi iti yat tvayā
smara tat mama kākutstha naya mām api duḥkhitām
21. kākutstha,
yat tvayā pāṇim gṛhṇatā "cariṣyāmi" iti saṃśrutam,

21. O descendant of Kakutstha (kākutstha), remember the pledge you made while taking my hand, 'I shall accompany you.' Take me, who is also distressed, along with you.
