मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-72, verse-8

ब्राह्मण उवाच ।
तव संप्रीतये तस्या वरेष्टिरुपकारिणी ।
क्रियते मित्रकामैर्या मित्रविन्दां करोमि ताम् ॥८॥
8. brāhmaṇa uvāca .
tava saṃprītaye tasyā vareṣṭirupakāriṇī .
kriyate mitrakāmairyā mitravindāṃ karomi tām.
8. brāhmaṇaḥ uvāca tava saṃprītaye tasyāḥ vareṣṭiḥ
upakāriṇī kriyate mitrakāmaiḥ yā mitravindām karomi tām
8. The brahmin said: 'For your pleasure and her satisfaction, this excellent and beneficial sacrificial rite (yajña) is performed by those who seek friendship. Through this, I will establish her as Mitravindā.'
