मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-24, verse-9

असत्यर्थे नृणां याञ्चाप्रवणं जायते मनः ।
सत्यशेषे कथं याञ्चां मम जिह्वा करिष्यति ॥९॥
9. asatyarthe nṛṇāṃ yāñcāpravaṇaṃ jāyate manaḥ .
satyaśeṣe kathaṃ yāñcāṃ mama jihvā kariṣyati.
9. asati arthe nṛṇām yāñcāpravaṇam jāyate manaḥ
| satyāśeṣe katham yāñcām mama jihvā kariṣyati
9. When there is a lack of means for people, their mind becomes inclined to begging. But when all is present and complete, how could my tongue make a request?
