मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-24, verse-35

जड उवाच ।
आनयामास नागेन्द्रो गृहगुप्तां मदालसाम् ।
तेषां संमोहनार्थाय ज्जल्प च ततः स्फुटम् ॥३५॥
35. jaḍa uvāca .
ānayāmāsa nāgendro gṛhaguptāṃ madālasām .
teṣāṃ saṃmohanārthāya jjalpa ca tataḥ sphuṭam.
35. jaḍaḥ uvāca ānayāmāsa nāga-indraḥ gṛha-guptām madālasām
teṣām saṃmohana-arthāya jalpa ca tataḥ sphuṭam
35. Jaḍa said: "The lord of serpents brought Madālasā, who was protected in the house. Then, for the purpose of bewildering them, he spoke clearly."
