मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-24, verse-27

पुत्रापूचतुः ।
ततोऽस्य पत्नी दयिता श्रुत्वेमं विनिपातितम् ।
अत्यजद्दयितान् प्राणान् विप्रलब्धा दुरात्मना ॥२७॥
27. putrāpūcatuḥ .
tato'sya patnī dayitā śrutvemaṃ vinipātitam .
atyajaddayitān prāṇān vipralabdhā durātmanā.
27. putrāḥ ūcatuḥ tataḥ asya patnī dayitā śrutvā imam
vinipātitam atyajat dayitān prāṇān vipralabdhā durātmanā
27. The sons said: "Then, his beloved wife, having heard that he was killed, and having been deceived by the wicked one, abandoned her cherished life."
