महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-69, verse-2

हतो बलभिदा वृत्रस्त्वया कर्णो धनंजय ।
वधं वै कर्णवृत्राभ्यां कथयिष्यन्ति मानवाः ॥२॥
2. hato balabhidā vṛtrastvayā karṇo dhanaṁjaya ,
vadhaṁ vai karṇavṛtrābhyāṁ kathayiṣyanti mānavāḥ.
2. hataḥ balabhidā vṛtraḥ tvayā karṇaḥ dhanaṃjaya
vadham vai karṇavṛtrābhyām kathayiṣyanti mānavāḥ
2. dhanaṃjaya vṛtraḥ balabhidā hataḥ tvayā karṇaḥ (hataḥ)
mānavāḥ vai karṇavṛtrābhyām vadham kathayiṣyanti
2. O Dhanaṃjaya (Arjuna), just as Vṛtra was slain by Balabhit (Indra), so too Karna has been slain by you. Indeed, people will speak of the killing of both Karna and Vṛtra.
