महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-21, verse-1

संजय उवाच ।
ततः कर्णं पुरस्कृत्य त्वदीया युद्धदुर्मदाः ।
पुनरावृत्य संग्रामं चक्रुर्देवासुरोपमम् ॥१॥
1. saṁjaya uvāca ,
tataḥ karṇaṁ puraskṛtya tvadīyā yuddhadurmadāḥ ,
punarāvṛtya saṁgrāmaṁ cakrurdevāsuropamam.

yuddhadurmadāḥ punarāvṛtya saṅgrāmam cakruḥ devāsurupamam

1. Sañjaya said: 'Then your warriors, fierce in battle, returned with Karṇa at the forefront and engaged in a battle resembling that between gods and demons.'
