महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-15, verse-37

मणिप्रतानोत्तमवज्रहाटकैरलंकृतं चांशुकमाल्यमौक्तिकैः ।
हतोऽस्यसावित्यसकृन्मुदा नदन्पराभिनद्द्रौणिवराङ्गभूषणम् ॥३७॥
37. maṇipratānottamavajrahāṭakai;ralaṁkṛtaṁ cāṁśukamālyamauktikaiḥ ,
hato'syasāvityasakṛnmudā nada;nparābhinaddrauṇivarāṅgabhūṣaṇam.

hataḥ asya asau iti asakṛt mudā

asakṛt mudā "hataḥ asya asau!" iti (vadan) (saḥ) maṇipratānottamavajrahāṭakaiḥ ca aṃśukamālyamauktikaiḥ alaṃkṛtam Drauṇivarāṅgabhūṣaṇam parābhinat
37. And, repeatedly exclaiming with joy, 'His (elephant) is killed!', the roaring (lord of Malaya) shattered the splendid body ornament of Drauṇi (Aśvatthāman), an ornament adorned with excellent clusters of jewels, diamonds, gold, fine cloths, garlands, and pearls.
