महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-142, verse-1

संजय उवाच ।
सहदेवमथायान्तं द्रोणप्रेप्सुं विशां पते ।
कर्णो वैकर्तनो युद्धे वारयामास भारत ॥१॥
1. saṁjaya uvāca ,
sahadevamathāyāntaṁ droṇaprepsuṁ viśāṁ pate ,
karṇo vaikartano yuddhe vārayāmāsa bhārata.
1. sañjayaḥ uvāca sahadevam atha āyāntam droṇa-prepsum
viśām pate karṇaḥ vaikartanaḥ yuddhe vārayām āsa bhārata
1. Sañjaya said: O lord of the people, O Bhārata, Karṇa, the son of Vikartana, checked Sahadeva in battle as he advanced, intent on reaching Droṇa.
