महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-62, verse-21

देवं चराचरात्मानं श्रीवत्साङ्कं सुवर्चसम् ।
पद्मनाभं न जानाति तमाहुस्तामसं जनाः ॥२१॥
21. devaṁ carācarātmānaṁ śrīvatsāṅkaṁ suvarcasam ,
padmanābhaṁ na jānāti tamāhustāmasaṁ janāḥ.
21. devam cara-acara-ātmānam śrīvatsa-aṅkam su-varcasam
padma-nābham na jānāti tam āhuḥ tāmasam janāḥ
21. janāḥ yaḥ devam cara-acara-ātmānam śrīvatsa-aṅkam su-varcasam padma-nābham na jānāti,
tam tāmasam āhuḥ
21. Those people (janāḥ) who do not recognize (na jānāti) the divine being (devam) who is the self (ātman) of all moving and unmoving things (cara-acara), who bears the mark of Śrīvatsa (śrīvatsāṅkam), who is resplendent (suvarcasam), and who has a lotus from his navel (padmanābham)—they call such a person "tāmasa" (ignorant and deluded).
