महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-294, verse-35

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
ततः शक्तिं प्रज्वलितां प्रतिगृह्य विशां पते ।
शस्त्रं गृहीत्वा निशितं सर्वगात्राण्यकृन्तत ॥३५॥
35. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
tataḥ śaktiṁ prajvalitāṁ pratigṛhya viśāṁ pate ,
śastraṁ gṛhītvā niśitaṁ sarvagātrāṇyakṛntata.
35. vaiśampāyana uvāca tataḥ śaktim prajvalitām pratigṛhya
viśām pate śastram gṛhītvā niśitam sarvagātrāṇi akṛntata
35. Vaiśampāyana said: Then, O lord of men (Janamejaya), having received the blazing spear, he took a sharpened weapon and cut off all his own limbs.
