महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-91, verse-9

पृथिवी भवतस्त्वेषा संन्यस्ता राजसत्तम ।
निष्क्रयो दीयतां मह्यं ब्राह्मणा हि धनार्थिनः ॥९॥
9. pṛthivī bhavatastveṣā saṁnyastā rājasattama ,
niṣkrayo dīyatāṁ mahyaṁ brāhmaṇā hi dhanārthinaḥ.

niṣkrayaḥ dīyatām mahyam brāhmaṇāḥ hi dhanārthinaḥ
9. rājasattama eṣā pṛthivī bhavataḥ tu saṃnyastā
niṣkrayaḥ mahyam dīyatām hi brāhmaṇāḥ dhanārthinaḥ
9. “O best of kings, this earth has been truly given by you. Therefore, let compensation be given to me, for brahmins (brāhmaṇa) are indeed seekers of wealth.”
