O God, O (brahman), I performed eleven-day Vedic rituals with appropriate gifts, and twice performed twelve-day horse (aśvamedha) Vedic rituals, and sixteen Arkayana Vedic rituals. Yet, I have not arrived here by the fruit of those [deeds].
