महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-106, verse-28

अष्टौ सहस्राणि ककुद्मिनामहं शुक्लर्षभाणामददं ब्राह्मणेभ्यः ।
एकैकं वै काञ्चनं शृङ्गमेभ्यः पत्नीश्चैषामददं निष्ककण्ठीः ॥२८॥
28. aṣṭau sahasrāṇi kakudmināmahaṁ; śuklarṣabhāṇāmadadaṁ brāhmaṇebhyaḥ ,
ekaikaṁ vai kāñcanaṁ śṛṅgamebhyaḥ; patnīścaiṣāmadadaṁ niṣkakaṇṭhīḥ.
28. aṣṭau sahasrāṇi kakudminām aham
śuklarṣabhāṇām adadam brāhmaṇebhyaḥ
ekāikam vai kāñcanam śṛṅgam ebhyah
patnīḥ ca eṣām adadam niṣkakaṇṭhīḥ
28. aham brāhmaṇebhyaḥ aṣṭau sahasrāṇi
kakudminām śuklarṣabhāṇām adadam

28. I gave eight thousand white, humped bulls to the (brahmin)s. Indeed, I gave a golden horn to each of them, and I also gave them wives adorned with golden necklaces.
