महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-106, verse-24

स्रोतश्च यावद्गङ्गायाश्छन्नमासीज्जगत्पते ।
दक्षिणाभिः प्रवृत्ताभिर्मम नागां च तत्कृते ॥२४॥
24. srotaśca yāvadgaṅgāyāśchannamāsījjagatpate ,
dakṣiṇābhiḥ pravṛttābhirmama nāgāṁ ca tatkṛte.
24. srotas ca yāvat gaṅgāyāḥ channam āsīt jagatpate
dakṣiṇābhiḥ pravṛttābhiḥ mama nāgān ca tatkṛte
24. O Lord of the world, for the sake of those (rituals), the stream of the Gaṅgā itself was (as if) covered by the abundant ritual fees and my elephants.
