महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-200, verse-19

अङ्गुष्ठादसृजद्ब्रह्मा मरीचेरपि पूर्वजम् ।
सोऽभवद्भरतश्रेष्ठ दक्षो नाम प्रजापतिः ॥१९॥
19. aṅguṣṭhādasṛjadbrahmā marīcerapi pūrvajam ,
so'bhavadbharataśreṣṭha dakṣo nāma prajāpatiḥ.

abhavat bharataśreṣṭha dakṣaḥ nāma prajāpatiḥ
19. bharataśreṣṭha brahmā aṅguṣṭhāt marīceḥ api pūrvajam

19. O best among Bhāratas (bharataśreṣṭha), Brahmā created from his thumb Dakṣa, who was the first-born (pūrvaja) even before Marīci. He became known as Prajāpati Dakṣa.
