राघवे गदति त्वेवं वसिष्ठो वदतां वरः ।
तूष्णीमेव मुहूर्तार्धमतिष्ठत्स्पष्टचेष्टितः ॥ २८ ॥

28. Śrī Vālmīki said: 'But when Rāghava spoke in this manner, Vasiṣṭha, the best among speakers, remained silent for half a moment, his demeanor clearly discernible.'
