योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-99, verse-31

यदसौ समवष्टभ्य मया पृष्टः प्रयत्नतः ।
तद्विवेको बलाच्चित्तमादत्त इति दर्शितम् ॥ ३१ ॥
yadasau samavaṣṭabhya mayā pṛṣṭaḥ prayatnataḥ ,
tadviveko balāccittamādatta iti darśitam 31
31. yat asau samavaṣṭabhya mayā pṛṣṭaḥ prayatnataḥ
tat vivekaḥ balāt cittam ādatta iti darśitam
31. mayā प्रयत्नतः samavaṣṭabhya yat asau pṛṣṭaḥ,
tat vivekaḥ balāt cittam ādatta iti darśitam
31. That (which occurred when) this (person) was questioned by me with diligent effort, having firmly grasped (the subject), demonstrated that discrimination (viveka) forcefully takes hold of consciousness (citta).
