वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-28, verse-36

एष दोषो महान् हि स्यान्मम सीताभिभाषणे ।
प्राणत्यागश्च वैदेह्या भवेदनभिभाषणे ॥३६॥
36. eṣa doṣo mahān hi syānmama sītābhibhāṣaṇe ,
prāṇatyāgaśca vaidehyā bhavedanabhibhāṣaṇe.
36. eṣaḥ doṣaḥ mahān hi syāt mama sītābhibhāṣaṇe
prāṇatyāgaḥ ca vaidehyāḥ bhavet anabhibhāṣaṇe
36. mama sītābhibhāṣaṇe eṣaḥ mahān doṣaḥ hi syāt
ca anabhibhāṣaṇe vaidehyāḥ prāṇatyāgaḥ bhavet
36. Indeed, this would be a great fault if I were to speak with Sītā. And the abandonment of life (prāṇatyāga) by Vaidehī would occur if I were not to speak with her.
