मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-77, verse-4

मयि दृष्टे सदा यस्मात् कुरुषे नेत्रसंयमम् ।
तस्माज्जनिष्यसे मूढे प्रजासंयमनं यमम् ॥४॥
4. mayi dṛṣṭe sadā yasmāt kuruṣe netrasaṃyamam .
tasmājjaniṣyase mūḍhe prajāsaṃyamanaṃ yamam.
4. mayi dṛṣṭe sadā yasmāt kuruṣe netrasaṃyamam
tasmāt janiṣyase mūḍhe prajāsaṃyamanam yamam
4. Because you always close your eyes (netrasaṃyamam) when you see me, therefore, O foolish one, you will give birth to Yama, the one who restrains creatures (prajāsaṃyamanam).
