मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-77, verse-27

ताडनाय च वै कोपात् पादस्तेन समुद्यतः ।
तस्याः पुनः क्षान्तिमता न तु देहे निपातितः ॥२७॥
27. tāḍanāya ca vai kopāt pādastena samudyataḥ .
tasyāḥ punaḥ kṣāntimatā na tu dehe nipātitaḥ.

27. Indeed, in anger, he raised a foot to strike her. But, being (inherently) patient, he did not bring it down upon her body.
