मनुं प्रख्यातयशसमनेकज्ञानपारगम् ।
विवस्वतः सुतो यस्मात्तस्माद्वैवस्वतस्तु सः ॥२॥

Because he was the son of Vivasvat, he was indeed Vaivasvata, the well-known Manu, who had mastered many branches of knowledge.
