मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-77, verse-2

मनुं प्रख्यातयशसमनेकज्ञानपारगम् ।
विवस्वतः सुतो यस्मात्तस्माद्वैवस्वतस्तु सः ॥२॥
2. manuṃ prakhyātayaśasamanekajñānapāragam .
vivasvataḥ suto yasmāttasmādvaivasvatastu saḥ.
2. manum prakhyātayaśasam anekajñānapāragam
vivasvataḥ sutaḥ yasmāt tasmāt vaivasvataḥ tu saḥ
2. Because he was the son of Vivasvat, he was indeed Vaivasvata, the well-known Manu, who had mastered many branches of knowledge.
