मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-44, verse-22

ममेतिप्रत्ययो भूप न कार्योऽहमिति त्वया ।
सम्यगालोच्य धर्मो हि धर्माभावे निराश्रयः ॥२२॥
22. mametipratyayo bhūpa na kāryo'hamiti tvayā .
samyagālocya dharmo hi dharmābhāve nirāśrayaḥ.
22. mama iti pratyayaḥ bhūpa na kāryaḥ aham iti tvayā
samyak ālocya dharmaḥ hi dharmābhāve nirāśrayaḥ
22. O king, the notion 'this is mine' or 'I am [the doer]' should not be cultivated by you. For, upon proper reflection, natural law (dharma) is indeed without support when there is an absence of natural law (dharma).
