मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-37, verse-8

तं बुबोधयिषुः सोऽथ चिरं ध्यात्वा महीपतिः ।
तद्वैरिसंश्रयं तस्य श्रेयोऽमन्यत भूपतेः ॥८॥
8. taṃ bubodhayiṣuḥ so'tha ciraṃ dhyātvā mahīpatiḥ .
tadvairisaṃśrayaṃ tasya śreyo'manyata bhūpateḥ.
8. tam bubodhayiṣuḥ saḥ atha ciram dhyātvā mahīpatiḥ
tat vairisaṃśrayam tasya śreyaḥ amanyata bhūpateḥ
8. Then, desiring to awaken him, that lord (mahipati) [Subāhu], having meditated (dhyāna) for a long time, considered that seeking refuge with his [the indulgent king's] enemies would be for the welfare (śreyas) of that king (bhūpati).
