एवं बहूनि वर्षाणि तस्य पालयतो महीम् ।
धर्मार्थकामसक्तस्य जग्मुरेकमहर्यथा ॥५॥

Thus, many years passed for him, who was governing the earth and devoted to righteousness (dharma), prosperity (artha), and sensual pleasure (kāma), as if they were but a single day.
