न चाप्यलमभूत्तस्य धर्मार्थोपार्जनं प्रति ॥६॥

Even while he was enjoying dear sensual pleasures (viṣaya), dispassion (vairāgya) did not arise in him. Nor was his accumulation of duties (dharma) and wealth (artha) ever enough.
