विधूय सर्वपापानि ब्रह्मणोऽन्ते लयं व्रजेत् ।
अष्टादशपुराणानि यानि प्राह पितामहः ॥७॥

having dispelled all sins, he attains dissolution (laya) at the end of (a cycle of) Brahmā. These are the eighteen Purāṇas which Grandfather (Brahmā) declared:
