अपूज्य पाठकर्तारं श्लोकमेकं शृणोति यः ।
नासौ पुण्यमवाप्नोति शास्त्रचोरः स्मृतो हि सः ॥२१॥

21. apūjya pāṭhakartāraṃ ślokamekaṃ śṛṇoti yaḥ .

Anyone who listens to even a single verse without first honoring the reciter does not acquire any merit (puṇya); indeed, such a person is regarded as a thief of scripture.
