मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-134, verse-22

न तस्य देवाः प्रीणन्ति पितरो नैव पुत्रकान् ।
दत्तं श्राद्धं तथेच्छन्ति तीर्थस्नानफलं न च ॥२२॥
22. na tasya devāḥ prīṇanti pitaro naiva putrakān .
dattaṃ śrāddhaṃ tathecchanti tīrthasnānaphalaṃ na ca.
22. na tasya devāḥ prīṇanti pitaraḥ na eva putrakān |
dattam śrāddham tathā icchanti tīrthasnānaphalam na ca
22. Neither the gods are pleased by him, nor are the ancestors pleased by his sons. Similarly, they do not desire the offerings (śrāddha) given by him, nor the benefit of bathing in holy places.
