मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-134, verse-16

पुष्करे दानजं पुण्यं श्रवणादस्य जायते ।
सर्ववेदाधिकफलं समाप्त्या चाधिगच्छति ॥१६॥
16. puṣkare dānajaṃ puṇyaṃ śravaṇādasya jāyate .
sarvavedādhikaphalaṃ samāptyā cādhigacchati.
16. puṣkare dānajam puṇyam śravaṇāt asya jāyate
sarvavedādhikaphalam samāptyā ca adhigacchati
16. The merit (puṇya) generated by charity (dāna) at Puṣkara arises from hearing this [Purāṇa]. And by its completion, one attains a result superior to all the Vedas.
