महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-8, verse-4

अर्धचन्द्रैस्तथा भल्लैः क्षुरप्रैरसिपट्टिशैः ।
परश्वधैश्चाप्यकृन्तन्नुत्तमाङ्गानि युध्यताम् ॥४॥
4. ardhacandraistathā bhallaiḥ kṣuraprairasipaṭṭiśaiḥ ,
paraśvadhaiścāpyakṛntannuttamāṅgāni yudhyatām.

4. With half-moon arrows, barbed spears, razor-sharp arrows, swords, broadswords, and also battle-axes, they severed the heads of those engaged in battle.
