महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-8, verse-12

रथाश्वेभनराणां च नराश्वेभरथैः कृतम् ।
पाणिपादैश्च शस्त्रैश्च रथैश्च कदनं महत् ॥१२॥
12. rathāśvebhanarāṇāṁ ca narāśvebharathaiḥ kṛtam ,
pāṇipādaiśca śastraiśca rathaiśca kadanaṁ mahat.

12. A great slaughter (kadana) of chariots, horses, elephants, and men was brought about by men, horses, elephants, and chariots. This immense destruction was also caused by (bare) hands and feet, by weapons, and by chariots.
