महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-144, verse-35

धावतां द्रवतां चैव पुनरावर्ततामपि ।
बभूव तत्र सैन्यानां शब्दः सुतुमुलो निशि ॥३५॥
35. dhāvatāṁ dravatāṁ caiva punarāvartatāmapi ,
babhūva tatra sainyānāṁ śabdaḥ sutumulo niśi.
35. dhāvatām dravatām ca eva punar āvartatām api
babhūva tatra sainyānām śabdaḥ sutumulaḥ niśi
35. niśi tatra dhāvatām dravatām ca eva punar
āvartatām api sainyānām sutumulaḥ śabdaḥ babhūva
35. In the night, there arose a tremendously tumultuous sound from the troops, some running, some fleeing, and some even turning back.
