महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-108, verse-4

कथं च युद्धं भूयोऽभूत्तयोः प्राणदुरोदरे ।
अत्र मन्ये समायत्तो जयो वाजय एव वा ॥४॥
4. kathaṁ ca yuddhaṁ bhūyo'bhūttayoḥ prāṇadurodare ,
atra manye samāyatto jayo vājaya eva vā.
4. katham ca yuddham bhūyaḥ abhūt tayoḥ prāṇa-durodare
| atra manye samāyattaḥ jayaḥ vā ajayaḥ eva vā
4. ca katham tayoḥ prāṇa-durodare yuddham bhūyaḥ abhūt? atra jayaḥ vā ajayaḥ eva vā samāyattaḥ iti manye.
4. And how did the battle (yuddha) between them, a deadly game of dice (prāṇadurodara) with their lives as stakes, unfold again? I believe that in this (atra), either victory (jaya) or defeat (ajaya) truly lay.
