महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-108, verse-24

छित्त्वा शक्तिं ततो भीमो निर्मुक्तोरगसंनिभाम् ।
मार्गमाण इव प्राणान्सूतपुत्रस्य मारिष ॥२४॥
24. chittvā śaktiṁ tato bhīmo nirmuktoragasaṁnibhām ,
mārgamāṇa iva prāṇānsūtaputrasya māriṣa.

24. māriṣa,
tataḥ bhīmaḥ निर्मुक्तोरगसंनिभाम् शक्तिम् छित्त्वा सूतपुत्रस्य प्राणान् मार्गमाणः इव [आसीत्] ।
24. O venerable one (māriṣa), then Bhima, having cut the spear (śakti) that resembled a cast-off snake-skin, appeared as if he were seeking the very life of Karna, the son of the charioteer.
