महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-197, verse-26

ब्राह्मणानां परिभवाद्वातापिश्च दुरात्मवान् ।
अगस्त्यमृषिमासाद्य जीर्णः क्रूरो महासुरः ॥२६॥
26. brāhmaṇānāṁ paribhavādvātāpiśca durātmavān ,
agastyamṛṣimāsādya jīrṇaḥ krūro mahāsuraḥ.
26. brāhmaṇānām paribhavāt vātāpiḥ ca durātmavān
agastyam ṛṣim āsādya jīrṇaḥ krūraḥ mahāsuraḥ
26. And due to the insult to the Brahmins, the evil-minded Vātāpi, that cruel great demon, was consumed after approaching the sage Agastya.
