महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-106, verse-40

अभिषिच्य तु तं राज्ये दिलीपो वनमाश्रितः ।
तपःसिद्धिसमायोगात्स राजा भरतर्षभ ।
वनाज्जगाम त्रिदिवं कालयोगेन भारत ॥४०॥
40. abhiṣicya tu taṁ rājye dilīpo vanamāśritaḥ ,
tapaḥsiddhisamāyogātsa rājā bharatarṣabha ,
vanājjagāma tridivaṁ kālayogena bhārata.
40. abhiṣicya tu tam rājye dilīpaḥ
vanam āśritaḥ tapas siddhi samāyogāt
saḥ rājā bharatarṣabha vanāt
jagāma tridivam kālayogena bhārata
40. O best of Bharatas, having consecrated Bhagiratha in the kingdom, King Dilipa resorted to the forest. By virtue of his ascetic accomplishment (tapas), that king then departed from the forest to heaven in due course of time, O Bharata.
