महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-18, chapter-3, verse-21

कर्मणां तात पुण्यानां जितानां तपसा स्वयम् ।
दानानां च महाबाहो फलं प्राप्नुहि पाण्डव ॥२१॥
21. karmaṇāṁ tāta puṇyānāṁ jitānāṁ tapasā svayam ,
dānānāṁ ca mahābāho phalaṁ prāpnuhi pāṇḍava.

21. O dear one, O mighty-armed Pāṇḍava, attain the fruit of meritorious actions (karma), of those (achievements) gained through your own asceticism (tapas), and of your donations (dāna).
